Shortly about the status of renovations at the moment especially for my English correspondents (sorry for being lazy and only writing in Finnish here lately...)

Bedrooms are getting ready for the parguet.  We want to do all painting work before installing the floor.  So the last I've been doing is painting the radiators in master bedroom and Heini's room.  Then we got some extra work last weekend in Tuuli's room as Tuuli wanted to change her ceiling material.  We made the mistake there earlier when we choose not to take of the panelling as we did in every other room.  After painting the walls, the panelling looked awful, worn and dirty.  And took the panels down, put gypsum plate instead and now I've been grouting and rubbing it to make it even.  Walls were already painted and now we have to do it again, maybe not all but some.

Kitchen cupboards are coming on Tuesday (hope) and there's still things to do before those can be carried in.  Ceiling needs paint.  Jouni made the hole for the hood last night so painting might be possible tomorrow (had to plaster the screw holes and joints and that needs to dry before rubbing and grouting and painting just after it's even and nice).  There's also electricity, water pipe and drains to built for dishwasher.  Walls need some painting before installing the floor and one is still a mistery what we do, painting or someting else.  It's the flue for the fireplace and the surface is so rough that painting is not good in kitchen (difficult to keep clean).  So is it glass, tiles, metal or something else?  I've been thinking about white paint and greenish glass.  Comments?

So no question what we do on weekend.  Still more painting (100 l white paint already used + some 10 l colours).  Grandpa painted the fireplace and Jouni ordered black granite for the hole over the fireplace door and on the 'bench' on the right if you look at the picture.  Grandpa has also been working in the cellar to slice and move the 'monster' 6000 l water tank out.  Hard work but it's coming out slice by slice.  Planning to get similar heating system as we installed last February at home.
