Forgot to mention that we woke up just before midnight for the fireworks at New Year's Eve.  We had a great view on our terrace when three big hotels on the seashore shoot rockets something like 5 mins each one after one.  We had sparkling wine and enjoyed the view.

Our mornings started the same way: waking up between 8 and 9, selfmade breakfast including juice, scrambled eggs with salami and tomato, cheese roll, coffee and yogurt served on terrace while watching the sun rising behind the mountains.  Then I went swimming to the pool while Jouni did the dishes :D  We had a heated pool downstairs and then one on the roof with a view.  I swam only once in the unheated water, refreshing but not something to do on holiday.  Swimming in the morning is one of the top things to do on freetime.  If you are early enough to avoid the noisy children and other disturbance...

Then walking in the village looking for a beach, found one which was closed.  The storm couple of months ago had made a mess and beach was covered with rocks size of my fist.  The waves hit the shore and returnwave made really a nice sound when the rocks were rolling (hih - rock'n roll) in the water.  And the waves hit high!  There was a footbath by the shore 5-10m above the sea but still we almost got wet, past a point just seconds ago before the water came pouring in.  Temperature was all the week around 22-24C during the day but under 20C at night.  Last day in Las Americas was hot, a friend told that somewhere there was a meter showing 29C.  So walking was quite nice just a top and shorts on.  Well Jouni took his T-shirt off on our first day, New Year's Day.
